We are preparing for our 14th annual mission trip to New Orleans on July 1st. Because of the generosity of so many people last summer, we were able to give away over 100 sport chairs to the homeless! If your family would like to donate some sport chairs or packaged socks, you can drop them off at Building 229 (game room entrance) anytime before June 30th. We had an amazing Easter morning outreach expedition with some of our youth! Our focus today was on reaching out to people who were unable to attend an Easter church service so we decided to bring church to them. We prayed for many of the hardworking housekeepers at hotels and motels in our area and showed them the love of Jesus in our own small way. We were so thankful to once again be given the opportunity to partner with City Impact as they serve the Tenderloin district in San Francisco, California. The Tenderloin district is known for its brokenness, however each time we go we find ourselves having such Holy encounters in the midst of so much heartache. Isn’t that the way that Jesus works? The River Church in Thomasville GA gifted Building 229 to 1NeedNow, Inc. (The Walk Youth Group) in September of 2017. Temple Baptist gifted The River Church the building in January of 2007. Temple Baptist originally built this church building in 1960. None of the above parties have any religious affiliations with each other, but they have a common calling.
