After being in the park for about 30 minutes, we walked by a lady sitting on a bench. I honestly got nervous, just walking by her, but Lauren said that she felt it in her that we should go talk to her. We turned back around, and as we made an approach, another woman started going towards her and sat down next to her. We made conversation with the two of them and came to find out that their names were Ava and Alyssa. They were clearly struggling in life, drugs in hand, and covered in sores and bruises. We truly felt like they needed to know that they were worthy and that there was a God that loved them. We also tried to remind them that they could turn their lives around, and God would be there, and he would be there to place their feet on a solid ground. Although they didn’t want a prayer, you could tell that we really touched them as Ms. Ava began to tear up. - this note was written by one of our students
