New Here?
We’re excited that you’re considering visiting The Walk Youth Group! We know visiting somewhere for the first time can feel a little intimidating, so we hope this page answers some of your questions and helps you feel at home before you arrive.
What should I wear?
Come as you are. Most students wear casual clothes such as shorts and a T-shirt during the warmer months, or jeans, sweatshirts, and hoodies during the cooler months. There is no dress code or formal attire.
Can I bring a friend?
Absolutely! We encourage students to invite their friends. Friends who are currently in 6th–12th grade are always welcome to join us. There’s no need to sign up or register ahead of time. Just come as you are—we’d love to have you!
When do you meet?
Our current meeting dates and times can always be found on our Calendar page.
During the school year, we meet:
- Middle School: Monday evenings
- High School: Wednesday evenings
- Sunday Gatherings: We meet on a few Sundays throughout the year. Please refer to our Calendar page for upcoming dates and times.
What happens when I arrive?
When you arrive at Building 229, your parent or driver can simply drop you off at the front of the building. One of our leaders will greet you, and we’ll ask you to complete a brief information card so we can get to know you and have your family’s contact information.
Every time we meet, we provide water, soda, and desserts for everyone to enjoy.
During our Sunday gatherings, we also serve a meal—typically pizza—at no cost to our students. Our regular Monday and Wednesday gatherings do not include a meal, but drinks and desserts are always available.
What if I don’t know anyone?
That’s completely okay—and it’s more common than you might think.
If you’d like, send us an email before your first visit. We’d be happy to have one of our leaders or a student welcome you, introduce you to others, and help you feel comfortable from the moment you arrive.
Do I have to belong to a certain church or denomination?
Not at all.
Students from many different churches attend The Walk, and some students don’t currently attend church anywhere. While our teaching is firmly rooted in the Bible and centered on Jesus Christ, everyone is welcome to come, ask questions, and learn more about God.
Do I have to be a Christian?
No.
Many students begin attending The Walk before making the personal decision to place their faith in Jesus Christ. Our desire is for every student to hear the Gospel, grow in their understanding of God’s Word, and have the opportunity to begin a personal relationship with Jesus. Whether you’re simply curious, exploring Christianity, or already following Jesus, you are welcome here.
We’d Love to Meet You
