Celebrating 10 Years of Building 229!
Coming out of our 9th Annual Middle School Lock-In, we’re reminded again what an incredible blessing Building 229 is.
Originally built by Temple Baptist Church in 1960, Building 229 was later passed to The River Church in 2007. Ten years ago, The River gifted Building 229 to 1NeedNow, Inc. and The Walk Youth Group. This weekend, we watched students fill this place, inside and out, laughing, worshiping, building friendships, and making memories together.
We’re also so grateful for Sam Yokley, his family, and his Scout group for building triple bunk beds for one of our rooms as his Scout project. This weekend, our eighth-grade girls became the first group to use them!
Having Building 229 allows us to host retreats, lock-ins, worship, small groups, and so much more right here at home. The money we save helps us serve students locally and take students on mission trips to major cities across the United States to share the love of Christ.
As we celebrate 10 years at Building 229 and 21 years of ministry, we’re grateful for every person who has prayed, given, served, and invested, and most of all, for God’s continued faithfulness.
Building 229 is more than a building. It’s a place where students gather, grow, and go.
