How God Used a Family in NYC to Lead Us to SF

Posted on

“The story of how we found San Francisco has God’s faithfulness written all over it. We had a dream of doing missions in Los Angeles this summer; however, God continued to close that door. We decided to take a mission trip to NYC instead. While we were in NYC, Chris struck up a conversation with a family from Tennessee. We were amazed that this family had so many connections to our lives. The father graduated from Lipscomb University the same year that Chris did, one of the daughters attended Bigstuf which is the same camp we attend each summer, and the family had a heart for missions and an apparent love for Jesus. While we were talking the daughter mentioned that she did a long-term internship with an organization called San Francisco City Impact. She said it was something we should check out. When we looked into the organization we realized that God was indeed calling us to California, just San Francisco, not LA. Three months following this conversation, we were on the ground serving with San Francisco City Impact. We are amazed at how God can use one simple act of obedience and one conversation to open doors and lead us where He is calling.”
