Student Outreach Story - D-Now Weekend 2026

Student Outreach Story

My group and I were walking into a department store in Thomasville when we noticed someone sitting in a car. I was nervous to go up to them because they looked sketchy at first.

We decided to go talk to them anyway. They shared that they were sleeping in their car and struggling with a family situation. We were able to pray for them and their family. It was really special to pray together, and I hope their family is restored.

This is what discipleship looked like when Jesus walked with His disciples.

Jesus didn’t just teach from a distance—He walked alongside real people, sent His disciples into real situations, and showed them how to love others step by step. He told them, “Follow Me,” and then walked with them as they learned.

This weekend, students did the same thing. They didn’t have all the answers. They felt nervous. But they stepped forward anyway, stayed connected to Jesus, and let Him lead the moment. That’s what it looks like to follow Jesus today.
