Returned From Our 17th Annual Mission Trip to NOLA

Posted on

We just returned from our 17th Annual Mission Trip to New Orleans Sunday night.

This week, we were sent into the city—to Canal Street, Jackson Square, City Hall, the French Market, Riverwalk, and under the bridges—to love boldly and serve joyfully.

We met Rhonda, who melted into a hug and later said, “I don’t remember the last time someone wasn’t afraid to hug me.”

Faith, who’s preached her Bible from park benches for 7 years.

Clara Rita, who gives away 200 devotionals a month.

Willie, who gave his life to Christ—and was found again by the same students who prayed over him.

And a woman beneath a tree, who told one of our students she had planned to take her life—but after we sat beside her, listened, and prayed, she felt seen and loved.

We also saw something deeper:

“This week was one of the most humbling and life-changing experiences I’ve ever had.”

“It changed my perspective and showed me that every day is a gift.”

“Having purpose and serving others brings great joy.”

“The name of Jesus holds power, and surrender brings blessing.”

“I’m just so thankful—I now know I matter, and I can make a difference.”

We watched boldness grow, friendships deepen, faith ignite, and hearts soften. We started each morning with Scripture, and ended each day with joy.

To everyone who gave, prayed, or supported this trip: thank you. You were part of every hug, every prayer, every story.

We give God all the glory!
