Tallahassee Outreach on Friday

Friday wasn’t loud or dramatic. It looked like laundromats, street corners, and a group of students quietly stepping into ordinary places, ready to listen and love. We believe what followed wasn’t random—it was God meeting people where they are. Some were full of joy. Others were carrying sorrow. And through it all, His presence was clear.

Mr. Willie laughed when he saw us and asked if we were there for summer break. We told him we came to tell people about Jesus—and his whole face lit up. After years of homelessness, he’s now housed and walking with the Lord again. As we prayed, he said, “I sure didn’t think I would have an encounter with the Lord at the laundromat today.”

Neither did we. But God often works in simple places.

At another stop, one of our youngest students prayed with a woman who had just lost her son. Through tears, she said, “I may struggle trusting God, but I can’t deny that He saw me today.”

Brenda recognized us as soon as we stepped out of the van. She remembered our group from two years ago—and still had the little flower we gave her.

We met Betty, who asked for prayer for her grandchildren, then turned and prayed for us.

We met Rick, a quiet man from Ohio who held back tears during prayer and gave the biggest hug.

We met Felicia, walking through cancer with deep faith.

We met Anto, grieving his sister’s passing, thankful someone stopped to pray.

These weren’t just conversations. They were reminders: God sees. God cares. And He still meets people in everyday places.

This is why we go. Jesus promised He would return. And we go—with urgency and love—so that others might know Him and have the hope of eternal life.

We give God the glory for every prayer, every step of faith, and every heart He touched. - written mostly by Lauren
