We’re so thankful for another meaningful Thanksgiving Outreach. Our team gathered at Thomasville High School, then spent the morning delivering meals throughout our community. Every year God opens doors we never expect, and today was no different.
This outreach has become a tradition for 17 years now, and one of the best parts is seeing former students come back and serve alongside the ones who are still in youth today. We also had families join us who had never served with us before, bringing their little ones to help. It’s always such a cool experience watching all ages serve together—and it brings an incredible amount of joy.
After the outreach, a few extra meals gave us the chance to meet several people who were having a difficult Thanksgiving. We offered meals, listened to their stories, and prayed with them. Some shared how tough the holidays can be, and others were new to the area and simply trying to get settled. A simple meal—and knowing someone cared—meant more to them than we could have imagined.
We also checked in on a longtime friend in the community who recently experienced a loss in her family. She reminded us again how much it encourages her that we show up each year right when she needs hope. These quiet, unexpected moments show us why we do this: to share the love of Jesus in practical, simple ways.
Thank you to everyone who helped prepare and deliver meals, and to Project Backyard for organizing this incredible community effort. It’s a blessing to serve alongside people from all different backgrounds and churches, united in caring for our community.
