Disciple-Makers Living Out Their Faith - New Orleans Mission Trip 2026

Posted on

One of our goals at The Walk Youth Group is to equip students to become disciple-makers—not just by teaching them God’s Word, but by giving them opportunities to live it out.

Our students don’t just go on a mission trip—they help make it happen. They organize supplies, pack for the trip, load the buses, prepare breakfast and dinner, clean up after meals, and constantly ask, “What else can we do?” Watching them serve with joyful hearts is one of the greatest blessings of the week.

This year we tried something new. Instead of pairing students with friends for our nightly Bible lessons, we partnered siblings together. Each family team studied Scripture, prepared a lesson, and taught the group.

It wasn’t always easy. There were plenty of laughs, a few disagreements, and lots of learning. But we watched brothers and sisters encourage one another, grow together, and step up to teach God’s Word with confidence.

Discipleship is more than learning information. It’s learning to serve, lead, teach, and love others well. Every year we continue to learn, make adjustments, and look for new ways to help our students grow into faithful followers of Christ.

Thank you for praying for these students and investing in the next generation.
