We just returned from an incredible mission trip to the heart of the Tenderloin in San Francisco, and we are in awe of what God did this past week. He stretched us, shaped us, and reminded us that even the darkest places can be lit up with His love. After being in the park for about 30 minutes, we walked by a lady sitting on a bench. I honestly got nervous, just walking by her, but Lauren said that she felt it in her that we should go talk to her. We turned back around, and as we made an approach, another woman started going towards her and sat down next to her. What I got out of this weekend was how important prayer is. Prayer isn’t new to me. It’s something I’ve done my whole life, but sometimes it feels more like a routine you’re following. But prayer is really a way of talking to God to grow closer to him and to grow deeper in your faith. This semester has been powerful, and we’ve already seen God moving in big ways. So far in January, 167 individual students have come through our doors—each counted only once, no matter how many events they’ve attended. But the real impact isn’t in the numbers; it’s in the lives being changed and the community being built.
