We’ve officially started our second annual mission trip to Los Angeles, CA! This week, our team will be serving alongside Serve LA in Hollywood, as well as spending time in the streets sharing the love of Jesus with those we meet. Please join us in praying—for the people we’ll encounter, for boldness in our students, and for hearts to be open to the gospel. Yesterday, our youth group was out doing local evangelism—something we do regularly. A woman we met said, “I think the universe saw me today.” She lost her husband three years ago. Yesterday would have been their 13th wedding anniversary. The seniors who have attended The Walk Youth Group over the past seven years have gone on 149 total trips—86 separate mission trips and 63 BigStuf camps—more than any class before them. Year after year, from 6th through 12th grade, they showed up, leaned in, and lived out the Great Commission. We just returned from an incredible mission trip to the heart of the Tenderloin in San Francisco, and we are in awe of what God did this past week. After being in the park for about 30 minutes, we walked by a lady sitting on a bench. I honestly got nervous, just walking by her, but Lauren said that she felt it in her that we should go talk to her. This past Saturday, we had the privilege of sharing cookies and kindness at Providence Plaza and another housing complex in Thomasville. It’s a simple tradition we’ve kept alive to remind people they’re loved by God. Our students handed out cookies, played with kids, and gave out children’s Bible books, including the Christmas story.
