18th Annual New Orleans Mission Trip Recap

We arrived home yesterday from our 18th Annual New Orleans Mission Trip, and our hearts are full. After 21 years of ministry and 39 mission trips, this was one of the boldest groups of students we’ve ever had. At The Walk, we believe discipleship has two parts. The first happens throughout the school year at Building 229. The second happens when students step out in faith and go make disciples. This week, our students lived that out with incredible boldness. More than on any...

Under the Bridges - New Orleans Mission Trip Story 2026

One of the people I met in New Orleans this week was a woman we met under a bridge. It was obvious she wasn’t doing well. She seemed to be struggling with addiction, but that didn’t change the fact that I felt drawn to go talk with her. I can’t really explain it—I just felt like God was leading me toward her. As we talked, she shared her story with us. It was heartbreaking, but also incredibly beautiful because of how faithful God has been through it all. She told us that she had...

Yesterday on Canal Street in New Orleans

Yesterday on Canal Street in New Orleans, we weren’t expecting one of our biggest ministry moments to begin with a bicycle accident. A woman crashed hard right in front of us outside the Ritz-Carlton. Within seconds, the doormen, bell staff, our students, and others nearby all stopped what they were doing to help. Towels, water, first aid, encouragement, and compassion came from every direction. No one had to stop. The hotel was busy with Fourth of July guests. Everyone had somewhere...

We’re officially on our way to New Orleans for our 18th Annual Mission Trip!

We’re officially on our way to New Orleans for our 18th Annual Mission Trip! Thank you to everyone who has prayed for us, supported us, and encouraged us along the way. Your partnership makes this week possible, and we are incredibly grateful. Please continue praying for our team this week—for safe travels, God’s guidance, boldness to share the hope of Jesus, and for hearts to be open to the Gospel. Pray that God would use every conversation and every opportunity to point people...

Would you consider partnering with us?

Would you consider partnering with us? Over the past 21 years, one thing has become very clear to me. One of the greatest needs in the Church today is to raise up a generation that knows God’s Word and isn’t afraid to share it. That’s why we do what we do. During the school year, we spend every week opening God’s Word with students. Then we give them opportunities to put their faith into practice through local outreach and mission trips. Next week, we’ll leave on our...

Tallahassee Outreach 2026

Today we spent the day doing what we love—taking students to Tallahassee, just outside of our hometown of Thomasville, to share the hope of Jesus. Before we head to New Orleans on Wednesday for our 18th annual mission trip, we believe missions begin close to home. Jesus said, “The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few.” (Matthew 9:37–38) Today our students prayed with people at a bus station and a laundromat. They encouraged a woman traveling home after being released...

Goal is to Develop Students Who Understand That Following Jesus Means Serving Others

One of the things we loved about this year’s BigStuf theme, Welcome to the Neighborhood, was the reminder that following Jesus means moving toward people, serving people, and seeing value in people. That’s something we’ve tried to model for the last 21 years. On the way to BigStuf, our charter bus pulled up and it was time to load the luggage. Before adults could step in, a group of middle and high school boys jumped in and loaded the entire bottom of the bus. Was it perfect?...

Help Us Collect Chairs for New Orleans!

Help Us Collect Chairs for New Orleans! Our 18th Annual Mission Trip to New Orleans is almost here, and we leave on July 1st—just 13 days away! For the past 18 years, we’ve had the privilege of serving in this incredible city, sharing the love of Jesus with people from all walks of life. One of the most meaningful things we do each year is give away folding sport chairs to those experiencing homelessness. Something as simple as a chair can provide rest, comfort, dignity, and a...

Favorite Unexpected Moment at Bigstuf 2026

One of my favorite unexpected moments from BigStuf happened on the way back from St. Andrews State Park. The middle school boys and I stopped at Circle K to get gas, and I made the very important camp decision that everyone needed a slushy. As we walked inside, the boys started singing what they called the “Slushy Song” (which I’m pretty sure they made up on the spot). They were singing so loudly and enthusiastically that people all around the store stopped and turned around to see...

MacArthur Park - Los Angeles-Hollywood Evangalism

Last Friday we were blessed to partner with a ministry led by a man named Carlos that faithfully lives out the Great Commission. Three times every week, they go into MacArthur Park to preach the gospel, pray with people, and point them to Jesus. It was an honor to serve alongside them, but one of the highlights of the week was watching our teenagers boldly share their testimonies and publicly talk about what Jesus has done in their lives. We are incredibly proud of them. Seeing the next...
